25th July, London, UK: London-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) Community Fibre Limited, the capital’s largest 100% full fibre broadband provider₁, has announced today that more than 1 million residential properties are now able to connect to its fibre broadband services.
Owned by funds advised by Warburg Pincus LLC, DTCP, Railpen and NDIF, the ISP, which expanded its network footprint by 75% in the last 12 months, has firmly established itself as a faster, more sustainable, affordable alternative.
Community Fibre offers consumers symmetrical broadband packages ranging from 150 Mbps to 3 Gbps, which are up to 45.9x faster than the UK average download speed and 193.5x faster than the UK average upload speed₂, with cost savings of at least £300 or more over the contract length when benchmarked against competitor providers₃. As an example, its 1 Gbps 100% full fibre package is available to Londoners at the most competitive market rate, at a cost of £25/month – less than 83p/day. In addition, more than 212,000 London-based businesses are now within 100m of the Community Fibre’s network footprint so they can easily join Community Fibre and benefit from up to 10 Gbps symmetrical speeds.
The award-winning network is also known for its customer service delivery, rated as the UK’s #1 Best ‘Internet Network Provider’ on Trustpilot, commanding an ‘Excellent’ 4.9/5 rated service with more than 30,000 5-star reviews (July 2023).
Recognising Community Fibre’s commitment to delivering more affordable broadband to Londoners, Theo Blackwell, Chief Digital Officer for London, said: “I’m thrilled that over one million homes in London can now connect to full-fibre broadband, giving people and businesses access to faster and more affordable internet access, supporting new jobs and growth.“The Mayor's Connected London team and Community Fibre work closely together to make investment happen on the ground. Together we are bridging the digital divide and improving London’s broadband infrastructure for the future, helping to build a better, fairer and more prosperous city for all.”
Graeme Oxby, Chief Executive Officer of Community Fibre, commented: “As Londoners continue to face pressure on household bills, as well as increasing consumer demand for online access and digital connectivity, we are proud to enable access to faster, cheaper, and more reliable fibre broadband to over one million London properties across the capital.”
He continued: “As well as advancing our target to reach more Londoners with our 100% full fibre network, we will continue to challenge the industry with our innovative offerings, such as setting new out-of-contract pricing standards, which we have capped at £2 across all our packages, as well as providing easy access to our social tariff, which unlike most other broadband providers does not ask consumers to provide proof of eligibility criteria.”
Community Fibre builds, operates, and owns its dedicated 100% full fibre network with the most advanced technology available to deliver fast and reliable broadband using 100% full fibre to the property (FTTP). Full Fibre is also the most sustainable solution, using 70% less energy than traditional old slow copper technology.
